The first Demo Day at Blees is now behind us—a remarkable event designed to bring together two key teams working toward a shared goal: shaping the future of transportation in Poland. Both decision-makers responsible for public transit in Polish cities and the Blees team behind our autonomous bus development are united in their pursuit of environmentally friendly, inclusive solutions.
Demo Day provided an excellent platform for inspiration, in-depth discussions on critical topics, and live demonstrations of our cutting-edge products: the electric autonomous minibus and our fleet management center.
The day began with a presentation of Blees’ solutions. Our speakers—Martyna Wiśniowska (CEO), Łukasz Wójcik (CTO), Tomasz Wierzchowski (CQO), and Mikołaj Kwiatkowski (BDM)—highlighted the potential of autonomous minibuses and their efficient integration into urban environments through our fleet management system. They also covered regulatory challenges for autonomy in Poland and Europe, along with recent successes from Blees’ pilot projects in Upper Silesian cities. The presentation delved into innovative technologies supporting autonomous vehicles and the future of urban mobility.
Driver turnover often impacts passenger experience,” said Marcin Dziekański, Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis Advisor on Unmanned Technologies. “In public transport, we frequently experience jerky movements or abrupt braking. Standardizing driving styles and eliminating inconsistencies is the future. I live in a neighborhood where small traditional buses connect us to the main transit hub, sometimes carrying just one or two passengers. Introducing autonomous minibuses, even on short routes, would make a significant difference—both economically and in passenger comfort.
Following the theoretical session, attendees from Wrocław, Katowice, Radom, Rzeszów, and beyond had the opportunity to test our autonomous minibus in real-world conditions. The test rides on the grounds of a business complex in Gliwice left participants impressed with the vehicle’s smooth operation and ride quality. Meanwhile, another group explored our fleet management center prototype, a tool under development to enable full control over Blees’ autonomous vehicles, real-time monitoring of routes, and data analysis.
After a dynamic morning, lunch provided an opportunity for informal discussions, exchanging ideas to improve urban transit, and sharing impressions from the ride. For some attendees, this was their first experience with an autonomous vehicle.
“I was amazed by the smooth ride,” said Monika Skowrońska-Ziomek, Deputy Director of Rzeszów’s Public Transport Authority. “I was also surprised by the spaciousness inside the vehicle. I felt safe throughout the journey, secured with a seatbelt and supported by grab handles. The audio alerts during the ride added to my sense of security.”
We are proud to showcase how our technology is shaping the future. The openness to innovation displayed by key decision-makers who influence the course of urban transportation in Poland is truly inspiring.
Thank you to all our participants for your engagement, valuable discussions, and presence at our event.
